Primary Sensory Club - The lunchtime Sensory Club runs twice a week. The aim of the club is to create a fun sensory environment. The session is generally themed using different smells such as incense sticks, candles and massage oils. Relaxing music is played to create a calm and soothing environment. The students are also given the opportunity to develop communication skills whilst working with their partner using Tacpacs. Other activities include parachute and bubble fun games, ribbon sticks, and the use of tactile fabrics. All children taking part in these activities have benefited greatly.
Primary Dance Club - Dance Club takes place on a Monday. The club offers our younger students a chance to enjoy different dance routines, using parachutes and ribbon sticks. The club encourages students to build fitness and confidence levels.
Primary Cooking Club - This is a new club for our younger students. Taking place every Wednesday, the club offers students a chance to create, taste and explore different foods. Students are given the chance to learn quick and easy recipes in this fun session.
Ryelands Play - During playtime, our primary pupils are joined by Year 6 Students from neighbouring Ryelands School. These inclusive play sessions have proved to be beneficial to all involved. Our students are given the opportunity to interact with their mainstream peers, whilst the Ryelands pupils gain an awareness and acceptance of children with physical and/ or learning difficulties. The children play well together and always have great fun.
Beauty Club - Beauty Club is held on Monday lunchtimes for a group of FE and Secondary students. It allows the pupils to experiment with and experience a range of beauty products and regimes. These include manicures, pedicures, facials, hair design, temporary tattoos and much more. Beauty Club also gives students the opportunity to socialise with their friends in a relaxing environment. Everyone leaves looking and smelling gorgeous!
The Cheerleading Club - The lunchtime Dance Club is held on a Wednesday in the school hall. The class is taught by Carla McCloughlin, a member of staff and a qualified dance teacher. The students enjoy taking part in a variety of dance activities, this not only encourages students to express themselves, it helps build up and improve confidence and fitness. The Cheerleading Group have performed together in a number of whole school assembly's demonstrating
Cooking Club - This is one of our most popular clubs for our older students; Students are encouraged to suggest ideas for simple recipes to follow. Students have so far made pizza, cakes, toasted sandwiches, popcorn.
Drumming/Rhythm Club - This exciting club takes place every Tuesday, led by an experienced musician; students have learnt a number of different rhythms and drumming techniques.
Sensory Club - The Sensory club takes place every Thursday in the schools Sensory room. The club is a music/film themed club which offers a sensory approach to exploring different films. The club has proven to be very popular with both our F.E and Secondary Dept.
Tag Rugby/Sports Club - The Sports Club takes place every Thursday, dependant on the weather it can take place either in the school hall or outside on the playground. Students have enjoyed playing a number of different sports, including football and Tag Rugby. Students have gone on to represent the school at various interschool tournaments.
