This term our topic has been Hospital.
As part of our topic the school nurse showed us some of the things nurses and doctors use. We bandaged each other and our teddies. In the imaginary play area we pretended to be doctors, nurses and patients. We visited the local hospital.
Famous people - Florence Nightingale
We looked at and discussed pictures of Florence Nightingale at work in the hospital in Scutari. We read books and watched a video about her life and work. Everyone thought she was very kind. Learning about how she cleaned the hospital and helped the soldiers get better was very interesting. The artifacts and clothes from the museum loan helped us understand and compare old fashioned and modern day hospitals.
