Dance Club
The lunchtime Dance Club is held on a Tuesday in the school hall. The class is taught by Carla McCloughlin, a member of staff and a qualified dance teacher. The students enjoy taking part in a variety of dance activities, in particular experiencing dances from around the world. Students learn about all aspects of national dance including the music, costumes, props and steps.
The Dance Club has also been made accessible to those students with limited mobility. Wheelchair Dance meets on Thursday lunchtimes and is well attended by pupils. Students are able to mix with their mainstream peers from Ryelands Primary School who volunteer to help in the class. A new theme is presented every term and students are able to explore different colours, smells, sounds and textures to stimulate all their senses.
