    Extended Schoool Activities

    After School Clubs

    The Loyne School offers a wide range of extended schools activities to students throughout school.

    Primary After School Club

    The primary after school club is held on Mondays from 3.15pm- 4.45pm. Students are given the opportunity to take part in a number of fun and exciting activities. These include various sports, dance, music, crafts, art and cooking. The club costs £3 per session.

    Salt Ayre After School Club

    The Salt Ayre after school club meets on Tuesdays from 3.15pm-4.30pm at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre. The club is open to all secondary and F.E students and is run in conjunction with Lancashire Leisure Services. The club allows students the opportunity to participate in different sporting activities; including circuit training, rounder's and basketball.

    Dance Club

    The after school dance club takes place every Wednesday between 3.15pm and 4.15pm in the school hall. The club is open to both secondary and F.E students and is very popular with the students. Taught by an experienced dance teacher, the students have taken part in the Lancashire Schools Dance Festival for the past two years with excellent results.

    Youth Club

    The Youth Club is accessible to all F.E students and runs once a month from 3.15pm - 7pm. The club has proven to be extremely popular and is always highly attended. The cost of each session is £10 which includes a planned activity and meal. The club not only gives the students an opportunity to socialise outside of school, but also increases their self- confidence by allowing them to experience different activities in new settings. Students have visited Riley's Pool Bar, Super Bowl, Mega - Zone and the cinema. They have also enjoyed eating out at local restaurants and pubs.

    After School Drama Group

    The After School Drama Group runs on a Monday afternoon from 3.15 - 4.15pm in the school hall. The group is open to a number of the older students, and provides a mixture of drama games, improvisation and devising work. This aims to be a fun session which includes movement, mime and singing. The group is supported by seven students from the University of Cumbria who help each week to ensure lively and animated sessions.
