    Inclusive Links

We work in partnership with a wide range of mainstream schools and we aim for each fulltime pupil to have a regular inclusive learning link.

Examples of joint groups of children working together include:

    • Twice weekly literacy sessions at our local primary school
    • An intensive Touch Typing course
    • Weekly physical programme (Sherborn)
    • Weekly music session at Skerton High school, (with More Music in Morecambe)
    • After school Fine Motor group (Spiral Club)
    • After School Girls' group (KS 4 and FE)
    • Daily play opportunities at Ryelands School

Specific examples of joint work with Our Lady's Catholic College include:

    • Environmental mural art work
    • Nurture Groups
    • Joint outdoor pursuits in Ullswater
    • Team Building sessions
    • Dance groups

We work closely with local colleges; some of our students access regular sessions at the Adult College; Beaumont College and Lancaster and Morecambe College. Students from the University of Cumbria run a weekly drama club. On a more occasional basis older students access extra-curricular programme at Lancaster University.

In addition, individual and small groups of Loyne pupils access taught sessions at our local primary and secondary schools in a range of core and foundation subjects.
