‘Our Journey’

We are delighted to welcome our young people back to school from Monday 8th March 2021 as lockdown restrictions begin to ease. For pupils that are shielding blended learning will continue to be provided.

The school Risk Assessments have been updated to reflect changes in national and local guidance and can be found below.

We very much look forward, to what we hope will be, the continued easing of lockdown and in time,  the eventual return to the pre COVID school environment.  Although that may be some time off, we remain hopeful and positive for the future.

We would like to thank all our parents, carers and families for their continued support and resilience during what has been a very challenging time.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Our youngest pupils (aged 2 – 5) access a play based learning environment and during their early years are developing their ‘learning to learn skills’ of engaging, attending, waiting, turn-taking and participating with adult led activities.

Primary & Secondary Departments (KS1-KS4)

Pupils access a holistic thematic curriculum which provides opportunities to develop and learn new skills and apply these through all areas of school life. Our secondary department gives pupils a supportive platform to extend communication and social skills ready for moving onto the more naturalistic environment of FE.

FE Centre

Our dynamic and successful FE department aims to provide a smooth and personalised transition into adulthood through a curriculum where functionality, self-help and independence skills feature heavily. Throughout the three year placement in the FE Centre, school staff work closely with students, parents, carers and other professionals to ensure that there is a shared vision of longer term outcomes and clear progression routes.
