Early Years Foundation Stage

Our youngest pupils (aged 4 – 5) access a play based learning environment where adults support them to engage with a range of exciting and stimulating learning activities. Pupils also have opportunities to participate in more structured circle time activities where they are encouraged to engage with registration, story telling and number songs and rhymes for example. During their early years pupils are developing their ‘learning to learn’ skills of engaging, attending, waiting, turn-taking and participating with adult led activities.

Primary & Secondary Departments (KS1-KS4)

Pupils access a holistic thematic curriculum which endeavours to meet their individual needs. The curriculum provides opportunities to develop and learn new skills and apply these through all areas of school life. Our secondary department provides pupils with a supportive platform to extend communication and social skills ready for moving the more naturalist environment of FE.

FE Centre

Our dynamic and successful FE department aims to provide a smooth and personalised transition into adulthood through a curriculum where functionality, self-help and independence skills feature heavily. Students may access a range of accreditation routes at a level appropriate to their needs and in a wide range of subjects and school staff work closely with students, parents, carers and other professionals to ensure that there is a shared vision of longer term outcomes and clear progression routes.

School Attendance Consultant LCC

“What a fabulous place! It’s been a real pleasure looking at your website and whilst I have never visited I feel that I have a real sense of who you are as a school.  I’ve loved reading about all the amazing opportunities available to pupils but also to other schools staff through the SEN surgeries.  There is a wealth of information but organised in a clear and accessible way.”

Healthy School Assessor

“The Loyne has changed our whole family’s lives for the better. The support the entire school show is amazing. It has been incredible seeing my daughter thrive since starting at the Loyne “
