The MSE is a room specifically designed to deliver a range of sensory stimulation, effects or experiences (which can be controlled to either be intensified or reduced). It is a dual purpose room with a high spec audio visual system to present an immersive learning experience which can be enhanced by altering the room temperature to create warm and cold climates. Alongside this, is a range of multi-sensory specialist equipment designed to be highly stimulating and engaging for our learners.
Some of the specialist equipment includes voice activated lighting, a vibrating floor for pupils to experience the rhythm of a piece of music and switch activated equipment for pupils to develop their understanding of cause and effect (e.g. when I do this, something will happen). The room also has an overhead hoist which enables pupils who have physical difficulties to fully access the MSE.
