Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural Education (SMSC)

Our curriculum ensures, through ‘real learning’, that the cultural capital of pupils is highly promoted so that children and young people are prepared for life in modern Britain. This includes after school clubs, educational visits, off-site learning, the Green Curriculum and residential visits.

This means that the contribution of Fundamental British Values and Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural education provision is centre stage in promoting learning as part of an ambitious, well-conceived, planned and delivered curriculum.

British Values and SMSC run through our holistic curriculum, rather than being delivered as stand-alone lessons resulting in aspects of both areas being covered from day to day routines class and whole school routines right down to Personalised Learning Outcomes and individual Positive Behaviour Support plans and everything in between. Coverage is monitored to ensure even breadth of knowledge and experience through termly input into Gridmaker.
