We are delighted to offer a range a workshops and information sessions in school over the year. All parents and carers are welcome, and any professionals who are interested can also come along!

Last academic year, courses delivered by school staff, therapists and external agencies, have included: Sleep difficulties and Sleep Solutions, Riding the Rapids (managing behaviours), Positive behaviour support, Introduction to Early Signing, Internet Safety for Children and Young People with Learning Disabilities & Continence Support.

Our schedule for the academic year 2017 – 18 will feature below shortly and will be added to throughout the year – so do come back and check regularly.


Families caring for a child with additional needs, a long term medical condition or disability are invited to attend a free information session held by ‘Contact’ in partnership with The Loyne Specialist School, Lancaster.

Cygnet Course For Parents and Carers – Starting on Friday 4th May

An awareness-raising course for parents and/or careers of children and young people who have an autistic spectrum condition and social communication difficulties.

The Cygnet parenting support programme is an evidence-based programme for parents and carers of children aged 7-18 who are on the autistic spectrum. The programme aims to support parents who may feel particularly isolated in meeting their child’s needs by providing them with appropriate knowledge and skills in a mutually supportive environment.
